We were approached by a client who were awarded a major contract to support steel making operations at Tata Steel's facility at Port Talbot, South Wales.  Due to the sheer size of the plant and the fact that it sits on private land, the clients incumbent tracking provider could not accuratley report a vehicles location.  This posed several challenges, not only for the management planning the works, but also line managers and saftey officers ensuring crews and assets were onsite when they should be.  This is where PBS Telematics stepped up to the challenge.  We mapped the entire site and gave each location / road a name, so where google mapping ended, PBS continued, providing accurate and meanigful reports.  For example, if a query was raised for a welding crew's time on site, not only were we able to provide visual proof but also a full log of events for that crew/vehicle for the day in question.  Invaulable information for recharging labour times, proving works had been completed on time but also from a HSE perspective accounting for loan workers.
